The Colorado River

We've been hanging out in the western part of Arizona lately, taking it easy. We did go to Lake Havasu City to see the real, actual London Bridge. It was a very relaxing town to be in, with beautiful parks and beaches to wander around. The weather in this region is quite warm - yesterday it was about 27 degrees and today might be a degree or two cooler.

May I present the London Bridge:

and one of the parks near downtown Lake Havasu City:

We've encountered some Saguaro Cacti - the big ones that look like people. They are really huge! Some species of birds drill holes and live in them. There's a cactus at the state park here that has a bird hole in it. I think that's mighty cool.

Today we ended up in a state park on the banks of the Colorado River. Our campsite is about 20 feet from the water, which seems quite calm and is a brilliant tropical green colour. Err, "color", I meant.

it's hard to imagine that this lazy river carved the Grand Canyon.

Speaking of lazy, that's probably what we're going to be for the next few days. Later!
